The Academic Board of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of KFU summed up the results of 2018

A meeting of the Academic Board was held in the assembly hall of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies during which the total figures for 2018 were discussed. The Vice-Rector for Research and Director of IGPT Danis Nourgaliev stressed out that along with the fulfillment of the commitments made by the Institute’s roadmap for 2019, the priority task is also to prepare accordingly for  a scheduled   Rosobrnadzor   inspection to be expected in October.

Florida Fazliyeva, Deputy Director of IGPT in her report on the educational activities noted an increase in the number of international students as well as the students enrolled on the contract basis. New Master’s degree programs including a program created jointly with ‘Gazprom Neft” and English-language programs will be provided this year.

The results of the research activities were presented by Anton Kolchugin, the Deputy Director of the IGPT, who outlined the main advances of the scientists of the Institute: “In 2018, the Institute fulfilled the planned indicators on almost all the points of the development roadmap: publication activities, performance of research and development and administrative agreements with manufacturing companies.” A steady increase of publications in the journals included in the main scientometric databases of Web of Science and Scopus was also pointed out.

Ildus Chukmarov, Deputy Director for Marketing of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies and Director of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing told about the fruitful work of the Center. “We signed a contract on providing 10 different advanced training programs for the specialists of Cuban Oil Company, increased the range of distance education and on-site training programs, while maintaining full-time training services. The Center managed to fully equip the “Incubator of distance education projects” which will become the basis for creating electronic educational resources for basic and additional education in IGPT in the near future.” Incidentally, it was the creation of electronic educational resources and development of distance learning that had been given special attention to by Ilshat Gafurov, the rector of KFU.

Natalia Horkova, Deputy Director of IGPT, told about the social and education work and noted the sporting achievements of the students who became the winners in various competitions.

Lidiya Barzilovich, the chief accountant of IGPT, presented a report on the financial activities of the Institute.
